On Lok 30th Street Senior Center is the home base for On Lok Mission Nutrition meal programs, serving hot, nutritious meals to help seniors maintain proper health and strength.
Meals are served in the center’s main dining room and at our five other walk-in dining sites in San Francisco. Our kitchen also prepares meals for delivery to homebound seniors in our home-delivered meals program.
During COVID-19, Mission Nutrition continues to provide home-delivered meals, and provides community meals as a “take out” service.
Meals are prepared with fresh ingredients in our center kitchen under the supervision of our registered dietitian and nutrition staff.
Our registered dietitian creates menus to meet the nutritional needs of older adults, as well as modified meals for seniors with doctor-prescribed dietary restrictions.
Menus reflect a variety of food traditions, including Latin American, Asian, vegetarian, and standard American cuisine.
Ours was not going to be a cafeteria where you waited in line and food was slopped on a tray. We were going to do meals with a little bit of class.
Community hot meals are served restaurant-style in our dining room Monday through Saturday and on major holidays at 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.
Meal tickets are available on the 3rd floor from 9 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. Any contribution is welcome and much appreciated, but not required.
To be eligible for community meals, seniors must be 60 or older and living independently.
In response to COVID-19, community meals are now offered as a take out service. For more information about takeout meals during shelter in place, call 415-550-2226.
