The energy at the 2023 National PACE Association (NPA) National Conference this fall was contagious, fueled by a thousand attendees. We were thrilled to see many organizations seeking to understand whether the PACE model aligns with their goals and mission to serve the older adult community. We also connected to mature PACE programs exploring the market potential for site expansion or interested in improving their participants' outcomes and experience. The conference culminated a busy year for On Lok PACEpartners. Over the past 12 months, we have supported 11 PACE organizations in seven states, providing strategic guidance and technical consultation for clients exploring, starting, or operating a PACE program. Our projects have included: Market Feasibility Study - For this client, we provided market data and demographic and competitive analysis to inform their decision to proceed with the PACE provider application. The in-depth knowledge we provided shed light on their state's undergoing changes of dedicated service areas, intelligence that was essential to our clients' plans for growth. PACE Application - For an organization exploring PACE, we provided guidance and technical expertise through every step of what can seem like a daunting process. Our team ensured the PACE application met all documentation requirements and our client was ready for state certification. PACE Pre-development Study - For a health plan with experience transferable to PACE, we conducted a gap analysis to understand what functions they had currently in place, how closely they aligned with PACE, and to determine how they could best leverage their expertise to fill any competency gaps with the knowledge they needed to operate a successful PACE program.
State environment for PACE expansion - For a client seeking to start a PACE program, we provided a study of the growth environment for PACE to determine if the state was receptive to PACE. It was a stepping stone to a larger feasibility once we ascertained that such potential existed.
